“Sokoto is Covid19 Active Case Free,” Health Commissioner

The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Ali Inname has announced that Sokoto State is now Covid19 Active Case free.

The news was disclosed today evening during a press briefing in the state.

Also, during the Covid19 update, it was announced on Sokoto State Ministry of Health official Twitter handle.

The tweet wrote: “Alhamdulilah. All the remaining 5 active cases patients were today discharged to reunite with the society.

“Sokoto is now COVID19 active case free.”

Since the pandemic first struck the state, the governor of Sokoto State, Gov. Aminu Tambuwal had worked round the clock with the state Covid19 Task Force headed by Dr. Ali Inname as well as the health workers and the good people of Sokoto.

Also the assistant of the president of Nigeria, Mohammad Buhari as well as billionaire business mogul, Aliko Dangote, Mr John Coumantaros BUA Cement, several coorporate organizations and over 1000 volunteers were enlisted.

However, the state recorded a total number of 115 confirmed cases.

Total tests done was 698 while 582 were negative. 14 people lost their lives to the deadly disease.
