Twitter Takes Down Trump’s Tweet, says it Glorified Violence

Late on Thursday night, Donald Trump went on Twitter to post a violent threat than he ever did.

In response, Twitter decided to do something it has never done before.

It hid Trump’s tweet from the timeline and replaced it with a warning label explaining that the tweet violated the glorification of violence policy.

Donald Trump had tweeted “When the looting starts, the shooting starts.’

He threatened to send in troops to have Minneapolis protesters shot.

Twitter said, ‘We’ve taken action in the interest of preventing others from being inspired to commit violent acts, but have kept the Tweet on Twitter.

‘Because it is important that the public still be able to see the Tweet given its relevance to ongoing matters of public importance.’
