Ekiti State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two suspects in connection with the gang-rape of a 17-year-old girl.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Sunday Abutu noted that the Command has commenced an investigation into the matter, assuring that the case would be thoroughly prosecuted and ensure justice prevails.
According to a source, the victim who sells sachet water at Oja’ba market was accosted by three men on Monday who took turns to rape her in a secluded area.

Erelu Bisi Fayemi, a world-renowned gender activist, is the Chairman of the Ekiti State Gender-Based Violence Management Committee (GBVMC).
Governor Kayode Fayemi has inaugurated the committee to proffer new ways for the state Government to eliminate GBV, FGM, and sexual harassment.
Also, the committed would ensure the security of victims and access to justice.
