Nigerians have reacted to the speech of the Senior Special Adviser to President Mohammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garbar Shehu following the shooting in Aso Rock on Thursday.
On Sunday, Garba Shehu who is the Senior Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Buhari wrote a very long statement in Twitter concerning Nigerians response to the Shooting in Aso Rock.
In the address, Shehu had said that the president “is not, and was not at anytime in any form of danger arising, either from deadly infections or the reported incident by security personnel which is currently under investigation.”
He also said that this particular incident “happened outside the main residence of the President.”
Moreover, Garba Shehu had called it a “minor occurrence” being used by some critics to justify attacks on the government and the person of President Muhammadu Buhari beggars belief.

Calling the discharge of fire arm inside the heart of powers a “minor occurrence” and a “beggars belief” had sparked comments on Nigerians who felt that the incident implies that the nation wasn’t safe under Buhari’s administration.
Uhenna George wrote, ” It’s beggars belief when a Nigeria Government spoke person to the President of Nigeria, Mohammadu Buhari can classify an incident involving the discharge of firearms inside the heart of Nigerian government as a “minor occurrence”. God help us here.”
Afikpo boi wrote: “Shame on you for calling it minor! Buhari can’t handle his family, how can he handle Nigeria? One Begin to wonder if he is truly the one in Aso villa!”
Someone with the Nigerian flag as Profile Picture wrote, “Garba Shehu be very sincere, isn’t this a show of recklessness and mismanagement. If Buhari can’t manage his personal affairs and home, how much more 200million+.”
In addition, Selimore Iyaki said, “You called it minor occupance? When our president is sleeping and people shooting gun in his villa?don’t you know that this can lead to hypertension to our father.”
