Chaos in Atlanta: 36 Protesters Arrested, Police Chief Resigns

Amidst Trump’s Law and Order campaign, Chaos seems to have taken over cities in America following George Floyd’s alleged killing.

A spoke man for the Atlanta Police Department has disclosed that a minimum of 36 people have been arrested in Atlanta.

The Atlanta Police spokesman told CNN after a white police officer shot and killed a black man.

Police fired tear gas at protesters and shut down an interstate at a Wendy’s (an American fast food restaurant) where an Atlanta police officer shot and killed a black man was set on fire.

In a video, the black man, Rayshard Brooks is seen pointing a taser towards the police officers, before he was shot.

However, one of the officers involved in the fatal shooting of Rayshard Brooks was dismissed and another was placed on administrative duty.

Atlanta Police Chief Erika Shields released a statement saying she had stepped down from her role out of “a deep and abiding love for this city and this department.”

Earlier, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms said this was Shields’ decision, and that she will remain with the city in an undetermined role.
