Then news about the death of popular politician and advocate was announced by the governor of Oyo State, Gov. Seyi Makinde via his Tweeter handle.

“I join the good people of Oyo State in mourning the loss of an illustrious son; a brilliant lawyer and administrator: May his soul rest in peace,” he said.

Chief Richard Akinjide SAN was a Yoruba Nigerian advocate and politician. .

He served in the capacity of Minister of Education in the government of Prime Minister Tafawa Balewa and the Minister for Justice in the administration of President Shehu Shagari.

He died on the 21 April, 2020 in Ibadan, Oyo State.
