President Mhammadu Buhari has appointed Professor Ibrahim Gambari, as his Chief of Staff. This update confirms the recent media speculation.
The appointment was announced today, May 13th by Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation at the virtual Federal Executive Council (FEC) Meeting.
Professor Ibrahim Gambari succeeds Abba Kyari, who passed away on April 17, 2020. Also Read: Kaduna Quarantines 50 Travel Violators
Gambari was Minister of External Affairs (1984-1985) and subsequently Ambassador/Permanent Representative of Nigeria to the UN (1990-1999).
Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Development Sunday Dare joined fellow Federal Executive Council Members to participate in the virtual FEC meeting.
The meeting was presided over by President Mohammadu Buhari.
Well meaning Nigerians have been writing congratulatory messages to the new COS.
Former Vice President, Atiku Abubarkar also congratulated the new COS.
