Fear Grips Sokoto as More Patients Die of Covid-19

Sokoto State has recorded another death from a patient infected by corona virus.

The news was reported by Sokoto State Ministry of Heath on Friday May 8th, 2020, via the Ministry official Twitter handle. This is less than five days after 8 people died of coronavirus in the state.

The tweet wrote: ‘Unfortunately, 1 Covid-19 death was recorded at our Amanawa Isolation centre.

‘This brings the total number of Covid-19 related deaths in Sokoto to 9.’

As at Thursday, 4 New Cases were confirmed and 2 patients were discharged in Sokoto. The state has recorded 89 confirmed cases since it first got hit by the virus. 77 cases are active as 4 has been discharged.

The state governor Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal,who is working around the clock to make such that the virus is adequately managed in the state has official Inaugurated Covid-19 Volunteers today at the International Conference Centre Kasarawa.

Over 3,000 health workers including 44 Medical Doctors were engaged.
