‘The policemen killed the pregnant woman because of N100.’

Our source gathered that the police Area Commander in Ogbere said the affected policemen had been arrested and would be transferred to the state command headquarters in Abeokuta later on Thursday or Friday.

The incident led to a protest by youths, who threatened to burn down the police station in the community.

It took the intervention of the traditional ruler and other prominent persons in the community to calm the youth.

According to human right activist Festus Ogun, some influential people are trying to use their positions to dismiss the case.

‘Livid youths are already protesting over the killing of the woman at the Police Station. Ogun wrote on his official Twitter handle yesterday.

‘I’ve been reliably informed that some influential people are trying to sweep the issue under the carpet. Let them be quickly informed that this matter will pursued to a logical conclusion.’
