The Lagos State Commissioner of Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi announced on Sunday, May 17th, that 3 of the returnees recently evacuated from Dubai have tested positive for COVID19.

The commissioner said those affected have been ‘admitted to the state COVID19 care centre for appropriate treatment protocols.’
Lagos State Government and Lagos State Ministry of Health will continue to adhere strictly to quarantine protocols and enforce necessary precautionary measures so as to contain the spread of COVID19 infection.
Prof. Abayomi has again urged Lagos residents and particularly those who recently returned to the country to cooperate with Lagos COVID19 response team as may be desirable at all times and in all circumstances.
As at May 16, 95 new Covid-19 Infection was confirmed. This brings the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Lagos is now 2389.
67 patients have fully recovered; 22 females and 45 males; including 3 foreign nationals – 2 Indians and a Chinese were discharged. This brings the total number of Covid-19 discharged patients in Lagos to 608.
