Governor of NCDC WHO Representative for Nigeria inspects Oyo State

Following the events of increased deaths in the state due to the high number of people infected with Covid-19, Gov. Seyi Makinde received the Director General of the NCDC Governor Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu and the country representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) Representative oyo  Nigeria, Dr. Fiona Braka at the Government House, Agodi Ibadan.

The state governor and his team comprising the state tasks force and medical doctors from UCH Ibadan came together to discuss the progress made so far in the state.

Makinde asked for the support of the NCDC in ensuring the certification of the laboratory at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) Ibadan.

He also urged them to give feedbacks that can help shape the efforts of the government in curtailing the spread of the virus.

Dr. Ihekweazu ascertaining that more is to be done in the state urged the people to continue to wash their hands regularly and practice social distancing.
