The Governor of Edo State, Governor Godwin Obaseki has ordered the Nigeria Police Force to thoroughly investigate the death of one Miss Uwaila Omozuwa.
Obaseki gave this order Sunday May 31, following the death of Uwaila Omozuwa in Edo State.
Miss Vera Uwaila Omozuwa is a 100-level student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN).
She was found dead inside The Redeemed Christain Church of God (RCCG) in Benin in the early hours of Sunday.
According to a source close to the deceased, late Uwaila had gone to the church to read when the perpetrators came and unleashed their venom on her.
Uwaila was raped, beaten and murdered with a fire extinguisher right inside the church premises.
The Nigerian Police has been mandated to identify, arrest and prosecute anyone found culpable in her death.
Also the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act of 2015 (VAPP) is now operational in Edo State.

He said: ‘Using this law, we would ensure to investigate what exactly transpired and deal decisively with the those found complicit in the dastardly act, whoever they might be.’
