The Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has announced that thirteen more people have been infected with the deadly pandemic.
Makinde made this known today, May 23rd, 2020, during the Covid19 update in Oyo State.
He said: ‘… the COVID-19 confirmation tests for thirteen suspected cases came back POSITIVE. Also Read: Lagos Would Have Multiple Biosecurity Threats, Commissioner
‘Eleven cases are from iSON Xperiences. The other two cases are from Afijio and Ibadan North East Local Government Areas. So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State is 203.’
Makinde enlightened the public on the importance of wearing masks and practice social distancing in public.
‘Remember, many COVID-19 cases are asymptomatic. So, it is important to wear your face masks in public places, practice social distancing, and wash your hands with soap and water regularly.’
However, a previously confirmed COVID-19 patient has received the second negative test result and has been discharged bringing the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to forty-nine.
