The Federal Government of Nigeria has decided to convert schools, hotels and dormitories into isolation centers in the coming weeks.
The Hon. Minister of Health Dr E. Osagie Ehanire told NTA News on Saturday May, 9th 2020, about the recent decision by the Federal Government.
Also, Hon. Ehanire revealed the speed in which the number of Covid-19 cases are increasing has surprised some governors.
According to the Hon. Ehanire, the Federal Government is working hard to meet the target of 300 bed spaces for Covid-19 patients.
‘We are urging all state governors to identify schools, hotels, dormitories & other facilities that can be converted to isolation centres.
‘In the FCT isolation facilities are not much of a constraint, the facility at This Day Dome will be commissioned soon”.
‘The reason why we isolate all positive COVID19 cases is to protect the health of the population, because asymptomatic persons can infect others & increase the risk of spread.

‘This requires innovative ideas like mental health counselling, buying Tv for the centres,’ he said.
In addition, Hon. Ehanire revealed the Federal Government would be conducting over 2 Million Tests.
‘Conducting 2 Million tests in the next 3 months will help to mop up those who should have been tested, improve & increase the number of #COVID19 cases.’
The Federal Government has urged all citizens to cooperate with the authorities in the isolation centres.

Is that the solution to the spread?
We are in trouble if the Minister of Health says Governors are surprised by the spread of Covid-19? Do they not have radios, newspapers and local and international news channels in their homes or offices? See our gatekeepers.
Everyone should just take care. Stay home and stay safe.
Imagine! Why are the governors surprised by the spread? When the developed worlds were crying, you did nothing to prevent ours. You left the border open, saying Nigeria was ready for Coronavirus!
