Some of the 679 persons announced to have Covid19 were Negative, Museveni

The President of Uganda, Kaguta Yoweri Museveni has announced that some of the 679 persons announced to be Covid19 positive did not have the virus.

President Museveni informed the Members of Parliament today at the Chamber of Parliament, Uganda, during the presentation of 2020/2021 budget.

He said: “Some of the 679 persons announced to have COVID19 were actually negative after errors during testing.”

He said that the Uganda Ministry of Health will clarify the public on the right figure.

Museveni also said that the country would win the fight against the pandemic if everyone follows the directives.

“We are really winning this war if everyone listened.”

He slammed citizens who have refused to adhere to the directives of the government.

“We cannot go on begging people to live. It should not be police to enforce this.

The reading of the budget speech by the Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Hon. Matia Kasaija was necessary due to the recent emergencies, especially the Corona Virus pandemic.

As a result, additional interventions and resource allocations was necessary after the Budget was approved.
