President Mohammad Buhari on Wednesday, April 29 approved the employment of 1000 Nigerian youths.

The 1000 Nigerians would emerge from the 774 Local Government in Nigeria and would work for a period of three months.
The decision was reached today by the Inter-Ministerial Steering Committee for the special public works program chaired by the DG, the Minister of State, Labour and Employment Festus Keyamo, Supervising Minister of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) Dr Nasiru Ladan with a host of representatives from the Ministries of Finance, Health, Transport, Works and Housing, Agriculture, Water Resources and Federal Ministry of Environment.
Nigerians have reacted to the news asking the President and his ministers to think long term as many Nigerians are either underemployed or unemployed.
