Mixed Reaction as El Rufai Revamps The Kashim Fellowship Program

Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai on Thursday May 7th, inaugurated the the new Governing Board of the Kashim Ibrahim Fellowship.

He thanked the pioneer board for its immense work in getting the fellowship to start running, and expressed confidence that the new board will advance on this solid foundation.

The new members are Prof. Claire Ejembi ( Vice Chairman), Ibukun Awosika, Ndidi Nwuneli, Maryam Uwais, Asue Ighodalo and Lola Shoneyin.

Returning members are Dele Olojede (Chairman), Kadaria Ahmed, Hadiza Bala-Usman, Jimi Lawal, Bilya Bala, Segun Adeniyi, Japheth Omojuwa and Muhammad Sani Abdullahi.


The Kaduna State Government introduced the Kashim Ibrahim Fellowship in 2018 as a youth leadership capacity-building programme.

The first set of 16 Kashim Ibrahim Fellows, from all over Nigeria, graduated in July 2019. The second set of 16 fellows is scheduled to complete the programme in July 2020.
